Pretty messy game over all. Andromeda Blue had the most shots by far, but the game could have gone either way. Lots of opportunities and some great saves by the keepers on each end.
Oh well.

I like that quote too, but Joe Louis said it first. Tyson was paraphrasing Louis when he said it.Thermonuclear wrote:KeeperSweeper wrote:Confidence is the feeling you have before you understand the situation. ~Mark Twain
That's a great quote - Even though he's no Sammuel L Clemmons, I also like Mike Tyson's quote: Everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth....

Must win tomorrow. Or tie and hope Kicks Blue ties on Sunday against FCD WTX while Andro Blue wins 3-0 on Sunday.

Eh - I like Tyson's version better - getting hit "in the mouth" is much more descriptive and memorable than what Joe Louis said. That said, it will be interesting to see plans unfold this weekend and next when the teams rolling up these weak PPL D2 teams get real competition.

Looked that up. Only FC Dallas Blue and Solar Chelsea Navy are in the QT and are 0-2 combined. What's the other 2? Sting is D3 already and FC Dallas Red isn't in the QT.

You're right on FC Dallas Red, my bad. But Mutiny is also in the QT (Bracket G). I know that Mutiny wasn't an Andro opponent last weekend, but they lost to Solar Navy, beat FCD Blue, and tied two other teams.

Yes! Go Redstar!Driver wrote:barbienot wrote:lady aztecs, sting okeefe and kicks blue will all make it back into LH.
4th spot will go to Andro Blue, Ntx strikers or possibly AFC red(depending on how many returning players they have).
Redstar is likely to claim one of the 4 spots.

Next weekend should be fun. I watched the Redstar game today, nice win over a speedy, physical AFC Red team.

I think there will be 6 other teams which will have some say in that.

Bracket B 12:30 PM AFC 01 RED vs. INFINITY FC 01 GIRLS UT Dallas #09
Bracket D 6:30 PM STING FT. WORTH '01 vs. VITESSE 01G UT Dallas #04
Bracket E 12:30 PM KICKS BLUE SC 01 vs. FC DALLAS WEST TEXAS Highpoint E
Bracket F 2:00 PM FRISCO FUSION 01G vs. ODYSSEY SC 01 GIRLS UT Dallas #05
Bracket G 2:00 PM NTX STRIKERS 01 BLUE vs. LP FC AMERICA 01 KEEGAN UT Dallas #07
With Strikers vs. LP and Sting vs Vitesses being the most compelling in my humble opinion.
Go Navy!

Originally thought 20 was enough. If there is clear winner in bracket G though, bracker C/D have real chance. Interesting wildcard race today.

Or said another way, did Aces Red prevail as bracket B winner and there is only one wild card?

Teams in Brackets F and G will play crossover games.
Only one game between was cross over. The rest was bracket play. Don't think the outcome would be any different than what occurred, just weird play set up.

Certainly they did because they made A & B the crossovers rather than F & G as in the format example - but I guess they would call these guidelines as opposed to rules. And if there is some advantage to being in the smaller crossover brackets, they may have felt it more appropriate to grant that position to the higher ranked seeds at the top of those brackets - legislation on the run?

But A & B didn't play crossover. I call crossover each team in bracket plays the other teams in the other bracket.

Right - but that would have them playing more games than teams in the other brackets and that would seem to be a competitive inequity. The way they did it seems fair since the two higher seeds crossed over and they both got lower seeds in thier respective brackets due to the seeding process. So, similar to the same effect NTX and Keegan faced in bracket G - they had to play each other but then got two games each against PPL/APL D2 teams which they dominated. Diffidence being Aces gets a bracket win and Keegan has to wait for wild cars to play out tonight.

Looks like pretty spot on seeding by the committee - number one seeds across the board so far with one left. I thought Aces white and red were going to trip them up but the joke was on me :-)

26 25 19 18 17 16 15
24 23 22 21 20
Not sure if there are as many questions if you look at it from the method above. Maybe someone at Lake Highland could let us know if this is the method that was used. Or if we are close. This also seems to make more sense as therr is not as many head issues that Tika head highlighted based on the positions in the respective leagues.
1 TEXAS REDSTAR
2 AFC 01 RED
3 AZTECS FC LADY AZTECS FC 01
4 STING FT. WORTH '01 (O'KEEFE)

15 MUTINY FC 01G
16 DALLAS TEXANS 01 GIRLS SOUTH
17 ANDROMEDA FC 01G BLUE (PREVIOUS TFC 01G WHITE)
18 AFC 01 G WHITE

20 TEXAS LIGHTNING 01G WHT
21 CELTIC 01
22 FORT WORTH FC 01G RED
23 TEXAS SPIRIT NORTH RED 01
24 ANDROMEDA FC 01G RED
25 FORNEY SC 01 GIRLS
26 MEJA WILLIAMS 01 GIRLS
Looks like the seeding from 1-8 was perfect. (Again as it should favor the top teams) Where I think they may have underseed teams like 23,24,25,26 considering their results. (But then again most don't really worry about the bottom of the bracket anyway) Most competivive bracket seemed to be Bracket B with no team dominating any other team. But hats off to the seeding comittee they got the top 8 perfect. AFC Red as a number 2 seed probably had the most work based to do based on the teams they had to play. Redstar, Infinty and even they Meja team gave them a little tussle. Depending on brackets I would look at them as a team that will find a way out of next week, along with Redstar and the Strikers. The fourth spot either to kicks blue or Aztecs depending again on the bracket split. So after all this weekend the haves still have it. With maybe only one non-lake highland team joining the party. I was 7/8 but then again I just tried to use the seeding trusting LH to get the cream correct which they did onward to next week.
